This is a Beginner-Level Dance

This dance was written in 1721 for King George II's baby son William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland. The instructions were included in the 1731 edition of Walsh's "Compleat Country Dancing Master". Originally 'Prince William' was written as a 'longways for as many as will', however, today we prefer to dance it as a three couple set.
